CIRCULAR ECONOMY FNQ | HELPING BUSINESS TO:
What we do in the next 6 years will make an impact to those who live on this planet for the next 1000.
Our goal is validate local and national Circular Innovations in Case Studies so that we can through data, identify transition systems that are scaleable or repeatable in regional Australia. We are all in on micro factories and we have 1 that will REDUCE contaminate waste from landfill, including Tyres and Ag waste, and 1 that REDESIGN 3 plastics through on demand manufacturing. We believe that decentralised systems and manufacturing is the key to reducing Scope 3 Emissions on our every day products and can act to give Product Stewardship Certification to businesses for good.
As a Not For Profit,
Circular Economy FNQ sees it has an opportunity to be part of identifying the roadmap to move from a linear, single use, to a circular economy keeping things in use for longer and providing an end of life solution for early adopter businesses, in our tropical and regional setting.
The Circular Industrial Economy is the framework designed by Walter R. Stahel, a Swiss Architect who saw how to reduce transport and carbon emissions by designed a decentralised framework that would see economical development in regional and remote areas.
People. Planet. Products. Social. Ecological. Industrial.
These systems need our undivided attention.
Seeing waste as a resource and changing our LIFESTYLE is two important habits we can all do to help launch the Circular Economy in FNQ.
THIS CHANGE IS ACTUALLY BETTER FOR US AND BETTER FOR THE PLANET. It's full of opportunities including new industries that will develop effective ways of reusing our waste and the beauty of that is, it actually saves existing business models MONEY. Saving it and making it.
Our part in the piece of the puzzle is to connect the dots of passionate sustainable ambassadors in science, business and society to help us bring everyone along in a change that is good for the planet and good for the people.
We are going to miss the
Paris Agreements' global temperature increase limit of 1.5 degrees, that means we also have to include
REPAIR and ADAPTION in our roadmap to 2030.
As a non-for profit we do 3 types of services,
Before you redesign your business you need to reduce your waste, so we work with you to identify gaps in your systems to help you find the potential outside Water, Waste and Energy to reduce your Scope 1|2|3 emissions. We have access to 2 micro factories that will take contaminated waste offering national brands the opportunity to obtain Product Stewardship Certification for Plastics, Tyres and Ag and Hospital waste at scale to turn it into Biochar, Bio Fuels and printing Passive Houses in place.
The green dollar is the new Unique Selling Point, USP, for your business. To be able to attract or use Carbon and Plastic credits for your business and show your impact it is key to use data that tells the story of your businesses good.
We have a collaboration with an environmental engineering company that does just that. It is part of the service of working with Circular Economy FNQs Business Model Transition service.
Some of our other collaborations are with two key education systems that help turn your school into a modern recycling facility while raising funds for your P&C and school purse to allow you to invest in the programs that work for your school. This sponsorship is through our funding from our main contribution partner, we made it better for the planet.
In 2025 we are sponsoring 1 of the largest public high schools in Cairns to do what the Gonski report promised to do 10 years ago. LEAN skills will help deliver sovereign manufacturing to Australia and we will be doing that from waste|urban mining.
From our work with Behavioural scientists one of the key ways to make change happen is by creating a buzz.
Nothing does that faster than a tee shirt with a message.
Our Challenge Continues Till The 17th Of June
We are developing Courses that will be included in your Circular Citizen Memberships
Did you know there are over 200 businesses in Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas who already moving towards being a Zero Waste business?
Join us in our Circular Citizen Challenge where you can show the businesses you buy from that you want them to also become a Zero Waste Business
so that you can be a
Carbon Neutral Human
while living in or visiting FNQ.
We believe that when we work together we can slow and even reverse climate change,
reduce the likelihood of 1billion Climate Change refugees and save the Daintree and Great Barrier Reef and all the wildlife that call both our World Heritage listed assets home, at the same time.
We are doing this challenge in 2 ways. Measuring your carbon footprint through the Reforest App.
We are asking those of you who have a great waste sorting system at home to share your waste sorting or reduction hacks on your Instagram or Facebook page so that we can curate those lessons in our Online Course we are building for our Circular Citizen membership.
We believe in collective intelligence as the way to learn and overcome things faster, so we are bringing you out of socials and onto an online course where we can put those key lessons into a powerful checklist that we can share, over and over again.
p.s. if you have any aunties, nanas or older gen who aren't tech aware, go over and film them too. Learn more about the challenge by clicking the button below. 💚
